DIETS ARE MAKING US FATTER!
Up until now - I have been a crazy yo-yo dieter.
A few years ago, after weighing in at the doctor's office for the annual check-up, my doctor looked at my weight, flipped through my chart and said,
"You know, it really is best if you maintain one weight."
Wow Doc - such vast wisdom!
I wanted to retort:
"Really? I never knew that. Go figure."
Instead, I hung my head in shame at being reminded - yet again - that my dieting merry-go-round had gotten me nowhere.
Here I was - again - weighing more than I ever wanted to. This insanity had to stop!

Or, are all "diets" doomed to fail?
I have tried most of the popular diets out there. I've achieved my goal weight, time and time again only to gain it all back once I stopped the rigid restrictions these diets require.
I hate starvation. I hate counting calories. Deprivation makes me crazy! I hate not fitting into my clothes. I hate looking in the mirror and saying to myself,
"Really? We are here again?"
In my experience, I have lost weight, time and time again, only to gain it back in larger and larger measures. So what's the solution?
STOP DIETING!
AND FILL UP ON UN-PROCESSED WHOLE, NATURAL FOODS.
It REALLY is this simple.
And, at the same time – eating this way is challenging for the average, busy, action-packed family.

In fact, the healthier we become we begin to crave nutritious whole foods. Our taste buds change and fake food tastes awful, way too sweet and full of chemicals.
I find there truly is satiation in natural whole foods – and when we toss the diet book out the window – and stop obsessing over calories – we experience the joy and freedom of making intentional, and thoughtful food choices.
